Finally! and I am so pleased with it, I thought I'd share!!!
I have finished my latest papercut on a map of London!
I have called it Waterloo Sunset, after the 1967's song by the Kinks!
I made one twice as big for the Brighton Art Fair in September this year.
I figured that if I was to do anything about London it had to be this year, with all the celebrations we had in 2012!
By the second day of the Brighton Art Fair, it was snatched up by this lovely customer!
It is often like that, I work on a piece for weeks, researching, drawing, choosing the map I am going to use and then the best part for me the cutting and the surprise at the end when it is all done and I lift up my template revealing the colours and patterns of the map on my design, and then it goes before I even have time to enjoy the result! But I guess that's good!
So for the lovely house I will be showing at for the Brighton Christmas Open House, I thought I would do another one, this is going to be my show piece!.
This time the map I have is half the size but it actually has taken me just as long to cut, especially the little leaves of the oak tree (which is the tree of London apparently!), they did test my patience!
So if you fancy seeing it framed and looking proud come to visit us at 33 Worcester Villas, Hove from 11 to 5pm the first 3 week end of December.
